Pacquiao Versus Mayweather Still A Possibility

Boxing betting enthusiasts still hoping for a possible showdown between superstars Manny Pacquaio and Floyd Mayweather Jr. may finally get to see the highly anticipated contest after all. Following Mayweather's dismissal of Mosley in their fight this past weekend, which went to judge's decision, it has been reported that Pacquiao is now softening his stance in regards to online sportsbetting drug testing, which was the main reason the clash never occurred in the first part.

Known worldwide as the two best boxing betting fighters in the sport today, Pacquaio and Mayweather was originally scheduled for earlier this year, before the tilt eventually fell through due to each boxer's camp failing to agree on terms for drug testing. Mayweather insisted that Pacquaio had used performance-enhancing drugs, despite that there was never any physical evidence that anyone could provide as proof. Mayweather, who is still undefeated, insisted that if the two were to fight, there must be unlimited blood and urine testing all the way up to, and including the day after the two fought. Pacquaio agreed to the urine testing aspect, but demanded their be a limit on how many blood tests their were and how close to the fight the would be taken, ultimately causing the fight to fall through.

Since those incidents took place, Pacquiao has filed a defamation suit against the Mayweather camp, claiming that he has never cheated in his life. Now, it appears as though his stance on limiting blood testing has softened, which may lead to the two fighting after all.

Penguins Ready For Another Stanley Cup Run

The critics were out in full force after the Pittsburgh Penguins dropped Game One of their opening round series with the Ottawa Senators. However, after consecutive victories since that initial defeat, the Penguins are looking a lot like the team that won the Stanley Cup just one season ago, and are on the right track to make a third consecutive finals appearance. A tip to players investing their money in hockey betting, take the Penguins to represent the Eastern conference in this year's finals.

When betting on sports such as hockey, players have to be careful not to overlook the obvious. The Penguins boast arguably the best one-two tandem in the league up front with Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin, and a goalie that has proven he could raise his game to play his best hockey in his biggest games. While Pittsburgh lost Hal Gill and Rob Scuderi from the defense unit that helped carry the team to a Stanley Cup title a year ago, their back end is still solid, and easily capable of helping them to another championship run.

Critics continue to talk about fatigue as being what will prevent this team from making it all the way, but better advice would be to understand just how talented and deep this team is. Instead of focusing on fatigue, understand how critical the experience of getting to back-to-back finals is, and underline the Pittsburgh Penguins as this year's sport betting pick to win it all once again.

Celtics, Lakers slated for another Finals appearance

It’s still early in the NBA betting season, but there’s really only a handful of teams with a legitimate shot: Boston, Cleveland, Orlando, the Los Angeles Lakers and possibly San Antonio or Denver. Here are the best picks from both conferences.

East – Boston

The move of Shaquille O’Neal isn’t enough to put LeBron James and Cleveland over the hump, and it may end in James leaving his hometown team. The Magic may regress this year, and an early-season injury to Jameer Nelson isn’t helping. Therefore, look for the Celtics to reach the Finals again behind their veteran core of Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen, and the team badly missed Garnett’s intensity during the second half of last year, especially on defense. Rajon Rondo re-signed with Boston, so there are no distractions. Rasheed Wallace adds depth and experience to the bench, and Glen Davis will return to the lineup as well.

West – Los Angeles Lakers

With all due respect to San Antonio and Denver, they’re not good enough to hang with the Lakers. San Antonio is old and beat up, and the Nuggets can’t be trusted in clutch situations (except for Chauncey “Mr. Big Shot” Billups” and maybe Carmelo Anthony). Kobe Bryant looks more focused than ever at the beginning of this year, and you can’t say that he’s been softened by last year’s win. Pau Gasol just came back to the lineup after injury, and he should be fresh for the end of the year. Ron Artest is catching on to the triangle offense, and he can now guard the opposition’s best perimeter player, instead of Bryant. The X-factor is the health of Andrew Bynum, the young and talented center who has battled injuries throughout his career. If he stays healthy, the Lakers will run away with the West.
