The NFL betting lines first Monday night will arrive in style with two longstanding division rivalries taking place in back-to-back games. Here is a quick look at those two matchups.
New England Patriots (-7) @ Miami Dolphins
Monday, 7:00 PM ET
The Patriots did it once again this past offseason, acquiring a couple of Pro Bowl talents with terrible reputations in hopes that the “Patriots way” can help turn them into elite players once again. The spotlight will be on Chad Ocho Cinco and Albert Haynesworth as they take to the field in Miami on Monday night, and it will be interesting to see how well they produce in their first regular season game. The Dolphins have reshaped their running game with Reggie Bush and rookie Daniel Thomas handling the carries, and while that duo may have success in the long run, it’s hard to imagine a Patriots’ front-four that features Haynesworth and Vince Wilfork letting them fishing kind wild. We didn’t even have to mention Tom Brady.
NFL Betting Pick: New England Patriots - 7
Oakland Raiders @ Denver Broncos (-3)
Monday, 10:15 PM ET
Everyone knows about the Broncos’ home field advantage playing at the Mile High, and with the Raiders’ defense looking suspect this preseason following the loss of Nnamdi Asomugha, a strong performance from Kyle Orton seems like the likely situation here as the Tim Tebow-bashing continues. Orton has enough weapons around him to move the field, and new head coach John Fox’s even-keel approach should be a calming sports betting influence.
NFL Betting Pick: Denver Broncos - 3
